When I lived in OH, I probably birded there at least 12 - 18 times a year. Absolutely the best place to enjoy Short-eared owls! and long-eareds before it became know for the species. At that time it was not unusual to see half a dozen on winter day in their roost.

OH BIRDERAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7283005317456814429.post-58017597745078841712008-12-17T06:40:00.000-05:002008-12-17T06:40:00.000-05:00Hey Kim,I grew up in Ohio but was not a birder at ...Hey Kim,
I grew up in Ohio but was not a birder at that point. My cousin lives next to Killdeer Plains (no doubt you drive right past their house every time you go). Since I'll be home for the holidays next week, I'll have to plan a trip to her house next week and leave early to get a chance to look around. Thanks for the Heads up.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7283005317456814429.post-90287177118904472272008-12-13T20:51:00.000-05:002008-12-13T20:51:00.000-05:00Killdeer sounds like a wonderful place...Have a gr...Killdeer sounds like a wonderful place...Have a great time in Antartica!Dawn Finehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08320576787003821586noreply@blogger.com
